MORTIMER -- Emma E. Mortimer passed away October 7, 2004 at the age of 91. She was born in Pueblo, CO on December 16, 1912 to Anna and James McIntire. She attended school in Boulder and Denver and attended Greeley Teachers College to become a school teacher. In 1933 she married Forrest E. Mortimer. For many years Emma worked for the Jefferson County School system. They lived in the Golden-Denver area until Forrest's retirement from Mountain Bell Telephone Co. They moved to Utah and Washington State for a short time and settled in Albuquerque in 1988. Emma had a very creative mind and enjoyed working with her various crafts. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Forrest; two brothers, Carl and Harold McIntire; and one sister, Enda Jenkins. She is survived by two daughters, Carol and husband, John Simpson of Manson, WA and Particia A. and husband, David Perovich of Albuquerque; one sister, Ruth Barefield of San Antonio, TX; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a favorite charity in her name. Graveside services will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Monday, October 11, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Robert Stone of Covenant United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements for Emma E. Mortimer are under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
