CHAVEZ -- Senaida G. Chavez, 90, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister was called home by our Heavenly Father, Sunday October 2, 2004. Senaida was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque since her birth on February 8, 1914. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edwin L. Chavez; and her sons, Jesse Chavez in 1976; and Albert Chavez in July of 2004. Senaida is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Apodaca and her husband, Robert; and her son, Gilbert Chavez and his wife, Lisa; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her four sisters, Isabel Stubblefield; Celia Gurule; Ofelia Perea; and Gladys Baca. She was loved by many and always had a smile for everyone she met. Her home was the spot for family members and friends to gather and drink coffee and eat her wonderful cooking. Senaida loved to go to the casino with her sister Celia, her daughter Lorraine, and her granddaughter Audra. Senaida took great and loving care of all her family all the way up until the end. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. All services will take place at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church beginning with a viewing on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Peralta Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert J. Apodaca; David Apodaca; Michael Chavez; Frank Chavez; Anthony Baca, and Robert G. Hirschseld. Romero Funeral Home 609 N. Main St. 87002
