MCSWAIN -- Joyce C. McSwain, 83, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1997, and coming to New Mexico from Dallas, TX, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2004. Joyce was born January 8, 1921, the daughter of Steven Kelly and Buela Castleberry, in Texas. She graduated from Texas Womens University in Denton, TX. Joyce was a very loving and devoted wife and mother. She loved gardening, especially her roses. Joyce loved and was an avid bird watcher. She was a member of the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church and was extremely devoted to her church. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Thomas, of the family home; one son, Steven McSwain and wife, Brenda of Placitas, NM; and one sister, Edna Rowland of Vernon, TX. A Memorial Service will be held for Joyce on Friday, September 3, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church, 1004 24th Street SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
