BEACH -- William Pearce Beach, 89, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2004 at the Veterans Administration Hospital after a brief illness. Pearce was born on May 27, 1915 in Augusta, Georgia. He spent his early years in Needles, California and graduated from high school in Silver Springs, Maryland in 1932. He moved to New Mexico to attend the University of New Mexico, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. There he met Vivian Kronig. They married in 1942 in Belen, New Mexico. Peace served as a 1st Lieutenant in United States Army during World War II after which he and Vivian made their home in Belen. He worked at the Ford-Mercury dealership in Belen for over 25 years. Pearce was a member of the Belen Rotary Club for over 50 years and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also active in the Belen Boy Scout Troop for many years, receiving the Silver Beaver Award. Pearce was preceded in death by his wife Vivian, who passed away in 1996. Pearce is survived by three sons and their families. Arthur Beach, his wife Alex and their son Eric, all of Albuquerque. Davis Beach and his wife Amelia of Tyrone, New Mexico, and his daughter, Vivian Woodley and her three children, Jeremy, Samantha, and Amanda of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Richard Beach and his wife Dorothy and their daughter, Melisa all of Albuquerque. Pearce lived in Belen until 2000 when he moved to the Vista del Rio Retirement Community in Albuquerque. He will be buried next to his beloved wife at the Terrace Grove Cemetery in Belen. Pallbearers will be his three sons and three grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held.
