THOMPSON -- Sandra Lynne "Sandy" Thompson. Born December 23, 1940, died June 27, 2004. Born in Langdon, ND to Bennie and Bjorg Johannesson. Preceded in death by son, David Daugherty; sister, Peggy Johnson; and father, Bennie Johannesson. She is survived by husband, Bob Thompson; daughter, Dana Newman; step-children, Steven and Michael Thompson and Shelly Lang; brothers, Clancy, Kenny, and Eric Johannesson; and sister, Deena Putnam; grandchildren, Ryan and Kiersten Hall, Aubrey and April Thompson and Dylan and Greyson Newman. Sandy worked at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque for several years, then later co-owned SanRo Electric with her husband until retirement. Later, she divided her time between Albuquerque and Scholle, New Mexico, where she enjoyed entertaining, dancing, and visiting with friends. The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at The New Mexico Cancer Center for their compassion, dedication, and optimism. There will be a visitation at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, on Thursday, July 1, 2004 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services are Friday morning, July 2, 2004 at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment dedication at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd., NE.
