ORTIZ -- Jerry V. "Tito" Ortiz, 30, a resident of Alcalde, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2004 following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was preceded in death by his father, Arsenio I. Ortiz and grandmother, Rachel Buschey; Jerry was a new father who loved his baby girl (Jalyn) and tenderly referred to her as "mama". He was a loving and caring husband, father and stepfather. He is survived by his wife, Kristina Ortiz; daughter, Jalyn Ortiz; step-children, Amanda and Joseph all of Alcalde; mother, Rita Buccigrossi and husband Chuck of Estancia; sisters, Gina Cappuzzello and boyfriend Jerry, and Maria Cappuzzello all of Albuquerque; uncle, Matthew and Ciocie Fran of Albuquerque; mother-in-law, Evangeline Martinez and boyfriend, Harold of Ranchitos; grandma, Mary of Ranchitos; nieces and nephews, Drew, MaKayla, Niko, Jessica, Sydney, and Nathan and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with the rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at 1:00 pm. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in San Juan. Burial to follow at the La Villita Cemetery. The family of Jerry V.
