LIVINGSTON -- Earl F. Livingston, 74, passed away on June 19, 2004 due to cancer. Earl "Ran with perseverance the race marked out for him," Heb 12:11. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Viola; daughter, Mary Therese Owen and husband, Gary, son, John; son, Gregory and wife, Kim; son, Patrick and wife, Dorothy; daughter Kathleen and her fianc‚, Billy Willson; his sister, Virginia Ambrose; five grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. In 1947, he graduated from Holy Cross School in Canon City, CO and also earned his pilots license. He joined the US Air Force in September 1950 and served as an instructor in A&E Mechanics School. In May, 1952 he contracted polio which forced his retirement. He attended St. Joseph's College and earned a degree in Business in 1960. He worked for several years for the government and later opened his own realty co. He was very involved in community service. He joined the Civil Air Patrol and was active for over 40 years; serving in search missions, was an information officer for eight years and Wing commander for four years. He was active in the US Coast Guard Aux. for 24 years and helped teach boating classes. He served as Zoning Commissioner in Paradise Hills for 10 years; was PVA director for 10 years; and was treasurer for the Annual Sobriety New Year's Pow-Wow for approximately seven years. The family is extremely grateful for the exemplary care he received from the staff at the SCI unit at the VA Hospital. Contributions may be made to Holy Cross Abbey, P.O. Box 1510, Canon City, CO, 81215. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday 9:00 a.m. at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. French Mortuary 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (505) 897-0300
