RICHARDSON -- William R. "Bill" Richardson, February 24, 1917 - June 19, 2004. He was born in East Steubenville, West Virginia. Bill was preceded by his parents, Raymond Richardson and Leafy Etta Cash. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty; his children, Michael R. and wife, Susan, David M. and wife, Vivian, Kathleen R. and husband, John Lamar; grandchildren, Paige Mahoney, Michael D. Richardson, Brian and Eric Richardson, and Johnny Lamar; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Caitlin Mahoney, Austin and Brandon Richardson, and Makaela Richardson. As a young man, Bill worked for the CCC's and served in the Army during WWII. He worked as a machinist for Cooper-Bessimer in Grove City, PA. The family moved to Albuquerque in 1955 where he was a machinist for ACF Industries and G.E. He retired in 1980. Bill was a founding parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He was a member of VFW Post 401 since 1955. He was an officer and active union member for the Local Lodge 794 Machinist Union since 1955. He was an avid bowler, homing pigeon racer, occasional golfer and fisherman. He enjoyed playing cards and dominos with his close friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His last wishes were to "Tell them I love them all." Mass will be celebrated at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd. N.E. on Thursday, June 24, 2004, at 9:00 a.m. Private interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Please no flowers.
