SABATH -- Ernest "Ernie" Sabath, 97, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, died Sunday, June 6, 2004. He is survived by his daughter, Sonia Sabath of Albuquerque; sons, Joseph and Earl Sabath both of Albuquerque; sister, Nell Sabath of Cleveland, OH; sister-in-law, Josephine Nahas of Cleveland, OH; three nieces, Ann Marie, Patricia and Maureen; and special friend and neighbor, Phil Rodela. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Sabath and brothers, Kay and Hale Sabath. Ernie and Rose owned and operated Ernie's Cafe at 4801 Lomas NE for over 20 years. He has lived the last four years at The Grand Court Retirement Community. Ernie was a long time member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 5:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Cremation will follow service. Ennichement at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you make a donation to the charity of your choice.
