SWEETKIND -- Irene Sullivan Sweetkind, 67, of Albuquerque, NM, died Friday, May 14, 2004 after a year-long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, David Sweetkind; son, Donald Sweetkind, his wife, Karen Smith, and their daughter, Reid Sweetkind of Golden, CO; daughter, Julie Sweetkind-Singer and her husband, Joshua Sweetkind-Singer of Mountain View, CA; and daughter, Beth Brockway, her husband, James Brockway, and their daughters, Melissa Brockway and Maggie Brockway of Ames, IA. She is also survived by three brothers, David Sullivan, Jr., Donal Sullivan and Kevin Sullivan. Irene, the daughter of Irene and David J. Sullivan, Sr., was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on August 25, 1936. Irene and David retired to Cochiti Lake, New Mexico in 1997 and moved to Albuquerque in 2003. She will be remembered for her love of history, her devotion to her family, and for being an unending source of strength and inspiration to those who knew her. A remembrance service will be held on May 28, 2004 in Albuquerque.
