GORMAN -- Miles B. Gorman, born on April 25, 1916 to Olen and Winifred Gorman in Deming, New Mexico, passed away on April 24, 2004 after 88 years of happiness and support to all who knew him. Working his way through junior high and high school, he worked as a cowboy for rancher Pie Wilson. In years to come, his memories and experiences of a glowing picture of New Mexico history would be a constant source of fascination to his family and others. Following his graduation, he was employed by the VA. In 1941, he joined the United States Postal Service as a clerk/carrier. In October 1942, Miles enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and served in WWII until his discharge in November 1945. He then returned to work for the US Postal Service and retired as Assistant Postmaster in Albuquerque in 1972. He was an avid fisherman, traveler, and golfer. He could build and repair anything and cheerfully shared those skills with others. Miles was a loving husband to his wife, Myra P. Gorman for 65 years. He is also survived by a son, Patrick L. Gorman; a daughter, Cynthia L. Gorman and husband Webster Propper; grandchildren, Tracy Hall and husband Scott; Lori Gorman; Mark VanDyk and wife Stephany; Aaron Brackett and wife Carrie; great-grandchildren, Chandler Hall and Ryan Brackett; a brother, Dr. William C. Gorman and wife Celeste. Private family services will be held within the week. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your favorite charity in the name of Miles B. Gorman.
