BACA -- Salome Baca, 84, passed from this world to join his loving wife of 54 years, Sofia C. Baca; daughter, Jeanette Sanchez; and son, Jesus Baca. He is survived by two sons, Arthur Baca and wife, Maggie and Anthony Baca and wife, Dolores; five daughters, Louise Teupell, Margaret Saiz and spouse, Pete, Esther Lucero and spouse, Charlie, Dorothy Martinez and spouse, Manuel and Roseann Esquibel and spouse, Joe; sisters, Julia Anaya, Marcella Baca and Lena Jaramillo; special grandson, Joshua Esquibel; 31 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and roommates, Maxine and Juan. Mr. Baca was a veteran of the Marine Corps during World War II. He served in the Pacific Theater in Saipan, Mariana Islands.A Rosary for Mr. Baca will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at the San Ignacio Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with full Military Honors. BACA -- Salome (Sam) Baca, 84, died at home in the arms of his faithful and caring companion, Maxine Romero and his special daughter-in-law, Maggie Baca. Salome was born to Felipe and Eloisa Baca in Albuquerque (Martinez Town). Mr. Baca was a veteran of the Marine Corps during World War II. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sofia; a daughter, Jeanette Sanchez; and a son, Jesus Baca. He is survived by five daughters; two sons; 39 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great - great-grandchild; three sisters; and his puppy Juanito, his pride and joy. Special thanks to the staff from Presbyterian Hospice, especially his special friend and nurse, Gail Stubbs; his caregiver, Elvira Perez; special friend, Martita Drezes. A Rosary for Mr. Baca will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at the San Ignacio Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with full Military Honors. BELL -- Richard R. Bell, 80, former resident of Illinois, a resident of Albuquerque since 1983, died Monday, April 26, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Bell of Albuquerque; daughter, Peggy Jean Miller and husband, Charles of Leland, IL; sons, Richard Raymond Bell, Jr. and wife, Consuelo of Fritzler, Germany, Timothy Paul Bell and wife, Greta of Wheaton, IL, and Donald Ray Bell and wife, Anna of Ooltewah, TN; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and sisters, Jane L. CLEMENT -- Mae Clement. Services for Mae Clement will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ken Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Cathedral in the Pines under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home. Mae Clement died on April 24, 2004, concluding an earthly life filled with love and laughter. She was born in Briscoe County, Texas on October 14, 1924 to Lemuel Veral and Emma Earl Vaughan. She lived the majority of her life in Albuquerque and San Ysidro, New Mexico moving to Tyler, Texas 5 years ago. Some people do it all, our Granny was one of those people. She sang professionally on the radio while attending Eastern New Mexico University. She taught first grade at San Jon schools until she moved to Albuquerque. While in Albuquerque she worked as an allergy specialist nurse. In 1964 she moved to San Ysidro, New Mexico where she owned and operated Clement Butane Co. until her retirement. After retirement she became an accomplished ball room dancer. She volunteered at various churches as a pianist. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy Adams and Buford Clement; and a sister, Mildred Stephens. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Aragon and husband, Allen; sons, Dennis Adams, Donald Adams and wife, Linda; granddaughters, Kimberly and Allison Aragon, Sharla Ishmael, Carrie Adams, Kelly Adams, Heidi Adams: Grandson, Casey Adams; one great- granddaughter, Josie. She is also survived by her beloved sister and brother, Waldene Henson and Rex Vaughan. Memorials may be made to the Smith County Humane Society, P. O. Box 6151, Tyler 75711.

GARCIA -- Rosina M. Garcia was called to rest after a long illness, on Saturday morning, April 24, 2004. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born Rosina Trujillo in Santa Fe, NM. Growing up, she worked at the Lensic Theater and was a member of the Santa Fe Fiesta Queen Court. Rosina married Arthur J. Garcia and raised two sons, Arthur A. and Leonard, who were her pride and joy. She was a pioneer in the 1960's, paving the way for women in the brokerage business where she enjoyed a long successful career. She was involved in preserving Santa Fe history and culture through many years of active association in La Sociedad Folklorica. Rosina was also a docent of Rancho de Las Golondrinas and a board member of the Girls Club, INC. Her family and friends will miss her brilliant smile, quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, and loving caring ways. She is survived by her husband Arthur; son Arthur and wife Ethel; son Leonard and wife Jennifer; granddaughter Paige; sister Annie Ewing and husband George; brothers Dan Trujillo and Anthony Trujillo and wife, the late Florence Trujillo; special cousin Phil Trujillo and wife Rosita, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Odyssey Health Care, Dr. Louise Abel, and Maria Campos for their loving care and kindness through Rosina?s illness. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2004, from 6:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. GORMAN -- Miles B. Gorman, born on April 25, 1916 to Olen and Winifred Gorman in Deming, New Mexico, passed away on April 24, 2004 after 88 years of happiness and support to all who knew him. Working his way through junior high and high school, he worked as a cowboy for rancher Pie Wilson. In years to come, his memories and experiences of a glowing picture of New Mexico history would be a constant source of fascination to his family and others. Following his graduation, he was employed by the VA. In 1941, he joined the United States Postal Service as a clerk/carrier. In October 1942, Miles enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and served in WWII until his discharge in November 1945. He then returned to work for the US Postal Service and retired as Assistant Postmaster in Albuquerque in 1972. He was an avid fisherman, traveler, and golfer. He could build and repair anything and cheerfully shared those skills with others. Miles was a loving husband to his wife, Myra P. Gorman for 65 years. He is also survived by a son, Patrick L. Gorman; a daughter, Cynthia L. Gorman and husband Webster Propper; grandchildren, Tracy Hall and husband Scott; Lori Gorman; Mark VanDyk and wife Stephany; Aaron Brackett and wife Carrie; great-grandchildren, Chandler Hall and Ryan Brackett; a brother, Dr. William C. HERRERA -- Clarence Herrera. A resident of Ft. Bayard, NC passed away on April 22, 2004 at the age of 63. He is survived by four children, Donald Herrera, Clyde, Michelle Real, Matilda Garcia and husband, William. LOPEZ -- Eileen C. Lopez passed away in Albuquerque the 24th Day of April 2004. She was a longtime resident of Albuquerque and retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield after 27 years. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents Alberto and Sophia Rodriguez and a special nephew Donald Rodriguez. Eileen is survived by her husband Jose Lopez; son Ray Lopez; sister Dorothy Chavez; two brothers, Charlie and Bob Rodriguez and numerous nephews, nieces, other family and friends who loved and will miss her. OAKES -- Marion M. Oakes, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, April 26, 2004. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Wallace Oakes of Albuquerque; daughter, Cheryl Truitt and husband, Keith of Albuquerque; grandsons, Steven and Brian Truitt, both of Albuquerque; sister, Katherine Moffett of Las Vegas, NV; sisters-in-law, Mae Behrend of Albuquerque, Charlotte Oakes of Redwood, MS and Edna Crawford of Monticello, AR; brothers-in-law, Thomas Oakes and wife, Ann of Redwood, MS and John Oakes and wife, Clara of Vicksburg, MS; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Dr. Theodore Oakes on February 18, 1996 and her brother, Robert F. Behrend on September 5, 1984. Mrs. Oakes was born in Marinette, WI. Her parents moved to Albuquerque when she was seven years old and she graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1940. She married Wallace Oakes on April 17, 1943. Mrs. Oakes traveled with him as an Air Force wife. In 1975, they retired back to Albuquerque. She loved to visit the casinos in Laughlin and Las Vegas. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. RATCLIFF -- Jerry R. Ratcliff, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, died Friday, April 23, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn E. Ratcliff; daughter, Peggy R. Serns and husband, Charles, of Longmont, CO; son, Thomas B. Ratcliff and wife, Susan of Albuquerque; grandson, Charles "Chip" Serns III and wife, Gina Wilson Ramirez MD, of Albuquerque; and granddaughter, Katie Serns, of Denver. Jerry was born in Amarillo, TX and married Evelyn E. Bailey on August 4, 1944 in Amarillo. He was a former student of Texas A&M, Class of 1944 and a member of Ross Volunteers. Jerry received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering. He was an Eagle Scout and served in the U.S. Army, with the rank of Captain. Jerry worked for the New Mexico Company in Albuquerque and as a manufacturers representative. He owned Thomas Hardware in Corrales. Jerry was a member of the Rotary Club in Rio Rancho and St. John's United Methodist Church. He was a beloved husband, dedicated father and loving grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Thursday, April 29, 2004, 1:00 pm, at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE with Dr. Chuck Maynard officiating. SKIDMORE -- Marlene Skidmore. On April 24, 2004, she went to her eternal rest at age 60. She was born on April 12, 1944, in Tome, NM. Marlene was completely devoted to her family and work. Her life revolved around her daughter, Ragina and granddaughter, Brittany. She made it known everyday just how much she loved them. She worked for USDA-Rural Housing, formally known as Farmers Home Administration. She helped numerous people during her 39 1/ 2 -year career. Marlene thrived on helping those in need and always went an extra mile to assist others. There are no words to describe the value placed on Marlene. No hour was too early and no trip was too far when it came to helping families realize their dream. This was her compensation. Marlene affected many lives, both personally and professionally. She is going to be greatly missed by everyone. May she rest in peace for all of eternity. Marlene is preceded in death by her father, Juan E. Zamora, her mother Deluvina P. Zamora, her sister Leova Romero, her sister-in-law Carmen Zamora, and her nephew Norman Otero. Marlene is survived by her daughter Ragina Pena and her granddaughter Brittany Vallejos. STOEBER -- Rev. Father Charles L. Stoeber, S.F. died Monday, April 26, 2004 in Albuquerque at the age of 71. He was a member of the Sons of the Holy Family having served in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe for 26 years. At present he was in residence at St. Therese of the Little Flower Parish in Albuquerque. Rev. Stoeber was a Catholic Priest for 48 years, a religious order member for 51 years, and spent 16 years with St. Therese Parish. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Therese Church. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday also at St. Therese where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., main celebrant will be Archbishop Michael Sheehan and Concelebrants will be his brother priests.
