WATHEN -- Evelyn Naomi Widstrand Wathen, 79, long time resident of Albuquerque, was welcomed into the loving arms of the Lord Jesus Christ after a long illness on March 18, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Vincent T. Wathen, Sr. Evelyn was born in Portland, OR. She is survived by 4 children, Vincent Tom and Liz Wathen, Dr. Lawrence and Mary Seibert, Naomi Whitaker, and Mark and Lei Wathen, all of Albuquerque; 7 grandchildren, Pepper and husband Brent Poole of Albuquerque, Nick and wife Susan Seibert of Allen, TX, Brad and wife Eliza Seibert of Austin, TX; brothers, Michael and Jason Whitaker; sisters Amber and Crystal Wathen; 4 great grandchildren, Aspen and Joshua Poole and Aubree and Ashlyn Seibert. Evelyn was a longtime member of Queen of Heaven Parish, member and former treasurer of the Altar Rosary Society, auxiliary member of the NM Civilian Conservation Corps., and a member of the Philosopher's Club. She retired from the APS School Food Services in 1985. Rosary will be recited at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church on Sunday, March 21, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. A viewing of the body will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel on Monday, March 22, 2004 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a prayer service at 11 :00.
