FRONKIER -- Imagene Alice Fronkier, 83, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, March 11, 2004. She was born in San Angelo, TX in 1920 and grew up in Balinger, TX. She married Maj. Henry B. Fronkier, USAF (Ret.) on September 3, 1942. Together they traveled extensively with the Air Force during the next 20 years, and were assigned to California, Pennsylvania, Florida, Texas, Japan, and New Mexico. They had two children: Pamela Jean Peters of Albuquerque, and Michael David Fronkier of Edmond, OK. After Henry's retirement at Kirtland AFB in 1960, Imagene and Hank opened the Isleta Laundry and Dry Cleaners in the SW valley area. Imagene proved to be an excellent business woman and created a thriving and successful operation. Her kindness and concern for customers and employees alike fashioned friendships that exist even today. They retired for a second time and sold their business in 1981. Again they traveled extensively visiting friends and family throughout the U.S. Imagene was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Henry B. Fronkier, parents, Gray and Alice McKown, and dear friend and cousin, Mary Edna Turner of Dallas, TX. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Jean Peters and husband, Jay Alan Peters of Albuquerque; son, Michael David Fronkier and wife, Katheryn of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Kathleen Lynn Fronkier and Douglas James Fronkier, both of Edmond, OK; and her cousin, Jerry Wayne Turner of Dallas, TX. She is also survived by several close and dear friends who helped her during the last few years of her journey: Linda Rubio, close friend and caregiver to both Henry and Imagene, neighbors Robert and Mary Ann Miller, and Rob and Delores Maes, and caregivers, Carol Romero, Tess Malone, and Mary Lou Gust. We would also like to thank Presbyterian Hospice. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at 3:30 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, with Pastor Jeff Lust officiating. French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE 823-9400
