FLORENCIA -- Elaine Florencia Bennett, age 55, passed away March 4, 2004 in Las Vegas, NM. Elaine was born in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Manuel and Eloisa Flores Apodaca. She attended schools in Albuquerque. Elaine worked for the United States Government for many years and was also a Missionary serving in the Philippines. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church where she loved to go and sing her favorite hymns. She was also a member of Las Hijas de Maria and the Campos Senior Citizens. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her sister Patsy Chavez of Albuquerque, her Brother Milton Apodaca of California, her Aunt Luz Chavez of Santa Rosa and her cousin Ernie Chavez and wife Grace of Santa Rosa along with numerous friends and relatives. Cremation has taken place and a rosary will be recited on Sunday, March 7, at 7:00 from St. Rose Church in Santa Rosa. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 9, at 10:00 am also from St. Rose Church with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Ernie Chavez, Dennis Chavez, Jeff Chavez, Joe Garcia, Glenn Chavez, Dominic Chavez and Gilbert Chavez. All services are entrusted to the: Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
