PABOUCEK -- Edward George Paboucek, 71, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2004. Ed was born October 27, 1932 and raised in Neffs, OH, before moving to Albuquerque, NM in 1948. He attended Albuquerque High School and UNM. He enlisted in the Army during the Korean Police Action in 1952, and served three years in the Far East. After returning he remained in the Army Reserve for 11 more years, serving as Sergeant Major of the 321st Military Government Group. He worked as a Design and Manufacturing Engineer for Sandia Laboratories where he retired in 1994. Ed has been a member of La Mesa Presbyterian Church since 1957, where he served as Deacon and Elder. He was a member of Mesa Lodge 68, AF & AM, Yorkrite Masonic Bodies, and Ballot Abyad Shrine Temple. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carlen Paboucek, daughters, Renee Sheckler and husband Burly of Edgewood, NM; Robin Cleek and husband, George of Casper, WY; son, David Paboucek of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Justin, Travis, Kyle, Nathan and Amanda Sheckler; Ashleigh and Courtney Cleek; brother, Henry Paboucek and wife, Katherine of Bernalillo, NM; and nephew Leon Paboucek and wife, Angela and family of Rio Rancho, NM. He leaves behind many other family members and friends. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will take place Friday, March 5, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper Ave. NE.
