CRISP -- Ira Vincent "Vince" Crisp, age 86, died on Friday, February 13, 2004 in Clayton, New Mexico . I. V. "Vince" was born May 2, 1917 on the family homestead in Thomas, NM to Ira Nain Crisp and Minnie Alice (Cardwell) Crisp. At age 13, "Vince" became a working cowboy when he helped drive a herd of horses to the 101 Ranch in northern Oklahoma. I.V. "Vince" married Irene Christian in 1939 and they started their own ranch, Echoing Hoof Ranch, on the Springer Highway in 1953. His many awards include being named Union County Old-Timer and recently being awarded the Buck Ramsey Cowboy Lifetime Achievement Award on September 20, 2003 in Nara Visa, NM.
