COWTON -- Maxine Vivian Jones Cowton, 87, passed away February 18, 2004 while peacefully surrounded by her family. Maxine was born February 13, 1917 in Audubon, IA to John and Bertha Jones. Maxine is survived by her two daughters Maxine JoAnn Cowton of Albuquerque, NM and Kathryn Kay Herring of Ankeny, IA; Granddaughters Julia Hansen Ransom, husband John and children Ella and Max, and Heather Hansen Gallegos, husband Tim and daughter Hannah of Albuquerque, NM; Grandson Jeffrey Rabe, wife Susan, son Joshua and wife Rebecca, of Monte Vista, CA; Grandson Robert Rabe and wife Jeanne of Greeley, CO; and Granddaughter Cythia Ripperger, husband Stan and children Zachary, Erin, and Katelyn of Indianola, IA; Sister Edna Hageman of Portland, OR and several nieces and nephews. Maxine will be buried next to her husband, Louis V. Cowton Jr. in Audubon, IA. Gravesite services are scheduled for February 25, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon, IA and a visitation with the family immediately following at the United Methodist Church.
