WINBLAD -- Alfred E. Winblad, 79, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2004. Born in Chicago, Illinois on October 17, 1924 he attended the University of Chicago before serving in the Army during World War II. He completed his undergraduate studies in electrical engineering at the University of Arizona in Tuscon, where he also received an advanced degree in physics. He married Gladys Louise Reynolds in 1949. In 1952, they moved to Albuquerque where he worked at Sandia National Laboratories until 1990. He was a member of the VFW and contributed to many charities. He is survived by his wife, Gladys; sister, Betty Jones of Albuquerque; daughter, Donna Gordon of Orofino, Idaho; son, Doug of Rhinebeck, New York; and two grandchildren, Chrisanna Gordon of Boulder, CO and Shawna Gordon of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at All Saints Lutheran Church, 4800 All Saints Road in Paradise Hills. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Lung Association.
