MARTIN -- Major Paul Martin, USAF, retired, age 86, died Wednesday, December 17, 2003 in Albuquerque following a short illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Sam Paul and Ruth Quint Martin and all of his brothers and sisters. Major Martin was born November 3, 1917 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He began his military career with the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1940. He and Irma Southwell were married September 26, 1942 in Minnesota. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1960, and was a member of the Reserves into the mid 70's. He was a life member of the Retired Officers Association. Major Martin is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Irma Southwell Martin; his daughter, Barbara Ingram, and son, Paul Charles Martin and wife, Linda; Grandchildren: Valerie Ingram and husband, Greg Pringle, Lawrence Christopher Ingram and wife, Dina, Carolyn Marie Ingram and husband ,Daniel Jacobs, Heather Lynn Ingram and husband, Don Slack, Claire Martin Shaw and husband, Michael, and Casey Martin Carlton and husband, Mark. Also survived by great grandchildren, Chandler Tevas Ingram, Amanda Ingram Jacobs, Lawrence Frederick Ingram Pringle, Joshua Nelson Ingram Pringle, Hunter Carlton, and Ian Shaw. A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2003 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Major Martin's family has requested memorial contributions be directed in his name to Santa Fe Partners In Education, PO Box 23374, Santa Fe, NM 87502.
