OLIVEIRA -- Richard G. Oliveira, 72, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, December 6, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Ann Oliveira of Albuquerque; sons, Jim McCelvey of Tijeras, NM, Steven Oliveira of Albuquerque, Jeff Oliveira of Albuquerque, and Keith Oliveira of Austin, TX; daughter-in-law, Danielle Oliveira of Albuquerque; 6 grandchildren, Renay Jones, Larry McCelvey, Samantha McCelvey, Matthew Preston Oliveira, and Padric McCelvey and Nikolas McCelvey, and their mother, Susan Cooke; 2 great-grandchildren, Kristen Goens, and Jesse Goens; brothers, Alvaro Oliveira and wife Norma of Cape Cod, MA, Charles Oliveira and wife Mary of Newport, RI, Antone Oliveira and wife Nancy of Newport, RI, and George Oliveira and wife Nancy of Newport, RI; sisters, Gloria Oliveira of Newport, RI and Mimi Oliveira of Newport, RI; aunt and godmother, Emily Lopes of Newport RI; in-laws, Bob and Dallas Schuller of Winter Park, FL; Kathryn Clay of Ponca City, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvaro and Mary Oliveira and brother, Bobby. He was born in Somerville, MA on April 25, 1931 and graduated from Wentworth Institute in Boston with a degree in engineering. He served in the United States Air Force from March 23, 1951 to July 22, 1955. He worked at Sandia National Laboratory for 38 years until his retirement to be a full time grandfather. He was a member of John XXIII Catholic Community where he served as an usher for many years. He was a board member of Eldorado neighborhood association. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A rosary will be held at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at 7:00 p.m with Deacon Alex Trujillo reciting. Mass will be held at John XXIII Catholic Community, 4831 Tramway Ridge NE on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at 10:00 a.m with Father Arkad Biczak officiating.
