GARCIA -- Mary P. Garcia, 80, a resident of Espanola passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2003 following a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clemente Garcia; father, Hipolito Pacheco; mother, Julianita Barreras; sons, Eddie and Richard Garcia; brother, Eloy Pacheco; one grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mary loved to knit blankets for her grandchildren. She loved word find puzzles and cooking for her family. She was always takin in family at their time of need. She is survived by her daughters, Viola Salas and companion, Armando of Albuquerque, Ida Gutierrez and husband, Tony of La Puente, CA, Diana Garcia and companion, Gilbert Carillo of Socorro and Dolores Blood and husband, Ray of Albuquerque; sons, Polo Garcia and wife, Florence of Albuquerque, Roy Garcia, Clemente Garcia and wife, Alice all of Espanola and Kenneth Garcia and wife, Shawna of Albuquerque; brothers, Benjamin Pacheco and wife, Virginia of Carson, CA, Joe Pacheco of Albuquerque, Fernando "Ruben" Pacheco and wife, Lala of Albuquerque, Arturo Pacheco and wife, Cipri of Cypress, CA, Luciano Pacheco and Alex Barreras both of Albuquerque; sisters, Marian Martine of Cypress, CA and Florence of Albuquerque; 27 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in San Juan. Burial to follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Albuquerque with the following serving as pallbearers, Lawrence, Angelo, Anthony, Roland, Juan and Ricardo Garcia. Honorary pallbearers named are, Eddie and Anthony Gutierrez, Paul and Joseph Garcia, Marty Salas and Estevan Roybal. the family of Mary P. Garcia has entrusted her funeral arrangements to the DeVargas Funeral Home of the Espanola Valley.
