BYARD -- Dale L. Byard passed away November 16, 2003. He was born in Macon, Illinois, served in the US Army during WWII, and retired from Kirtland Air Force Base in 1973. Dale was an owner, manager and investor of Real Estate Properties, and a lifetime member of the DAV Post #3. He was preceded in death by his wife and partner of 27 years, Evelyn Al Byard; and is survived by his children, Michael Byard of Daytona Beach, FL. Richard Silva and wife, Pearl of North Dakota, Elizabeth Smith and husband, Chris of Ruidoso; grandchildren, Dan Byard, Beth and Dale Jr. Byard, Rick, Tony, and Carlos Silva, Kendall and Kendra King; numerous great-grandchildren; other family and friends who loved and will miss him. A Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST.
