MARTINEZ -- Rita P. Martinez, age 91, died on October 11, 2003. She died peacefully in her sleep. Rita was born in Kelly, NM on October 2, 1912. She lived in Gallup, NM from 1914 through 1945. In 1946, she moved with her husband and her family to Chinle, AZ. She lived in Chinle from 1946 through 1978. She lived the remainder of her life in Albuquerque. Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Felix R. Martinez. When Felix died in 1994, the couple had been married fro 58 years. Also preceding her in death were her older brother, Mike Peralta; and her younger sister, Lena Sanchez. Rita is survived by her six children, Roselee Feller, of Killeen,TX, Stanley and wife, Rose of Chinle, AZ, Robert and wife, Carol of Flagstaff, AZ, Henry and wife, Lorraine of Albuquerque, Raymond and wife, Roberta of Albuquerque and Isabelle and husband, LV Churchman of Albuquerque. Rita is also survived by her sister, Ruth Gonzalez; and by her brother, Louie Peralta both of Gallup, NM; and by 16 grandchildren;and 20 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2003 at Garcia Mortuary Chapel at 717 Stover, SW in Albuquerque. Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 18, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 562 Atrisco Dr., SW, Albuquerque with open casket viewing from 9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. prior to the Mass Service. Graveside Services, following the Mass will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd., NE in Albuquerque.
