BARNES -- Billy Barnes, 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1968, died Thursday, September 25, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Barnes of Albuquerque; brother, J.T. Barnes of Pace, FL; sister, Wara Barnes Voss and husband Bill also of Pace, FL; sister-in-law, Lessie Henderson Barnes of Pensacola, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Mattie Barnes; sisters, Clara Barnes Lloyd, Onie Barnes Wall, and Eva Barnes Harter; brothers, Son Barnes and Watson Barnes. Billy retired from the USAF in 1967 after serving 20 years where he was a motion picture camera technician. He also served three years in Greenland. After retirement, he worked in Civil Service at Eglin AFB. He then started Barnes Camera Repair in Albuquerque. He was a long time member of St. John's United Methodist Church. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans in Albuquerque and EDEKER-DUBOSE American Legion Post 121 in Jay, FL. He was also a Master Mason. Crypt side services will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE with Rev. Clyde Stanfield officiating. Friends may visit French Mortuary on Monday, September 29, 2003 from 5-7 p.m. French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE 823-9400
