KAY -- Hugh A.Kay, passed away on September 12, 2003. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Billie B. Kay, who passed away on May 29, 1998. Mr. Kay was born March 12, 1913. He spent his early years in Texas, living in several towns in the Texas panhandle. He attended Texas Technological University graduating with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. He later attended Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was a registered professional engineer and a licensed airplane pilot. Mr. Kay was employed by a public utility in Dallas for four years before being employed by the United States Government. His assignments included employment by the War Department, Civil Aeronautics Administration, Department of Defense and the Atomic Energy Commission. During his employment, he received a number of outstanding achievement and superior performance awards. He retired with 30 years government service. During World War II, Mr. Kay served on active duty with the United States Marine Corps Aviation branch. He completed 20 years service in the Marine Corps Reserve. Mr. Kay was a member of the Masons, Scottish Rite and the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. Cryptside Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2003, at Hillcrest Mausoleum in Dallas, TX.
