Montoya -- Pete Montoya, 69, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 4, 1998. He was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Montoya. Pete is survived by his wife, Deluvina Montoya, also of Albuquerque; two sisters, Thomasita and Francis of California; sons, Richard Jinzo and wife, Rosie, Max Montoya, Pete J. Montoya; daughters, Linda Tachia and husband, Arnold, Theresa Serna and Dolores Montoya, all of Albuquerque, Maxine Biddix and husband, Arnold of Washington; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Pete was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and Post 69. He coached baseball, softball, and basketball for 20 years. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Alameda. A Rosary will be recited tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alameda. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Pallbearers are Phillip Jaramillo, Lawrence Perea, Daniel Perea, Matthew Gonzales, Marvin Olson and Manny Jaramillo. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Serna, Richard Jinzo, Leroy Chavez and Leroy Jinzo. Services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th Street NW, Gary F. Santillanes CFSP.
