Mccleary -- Pauline L. McCleary, 87, passed away on March 16, 1998 in Albuquerque. She taught at the Acoma Indian School, the Indian Boarding School, and retired from Garfield Middle School as an art teacher. She was active in the Alliance Against Animal Abuse, Animal Protection of New Mexico, and was very active in the overall protection of animal rights. She is survived by her sisters, Parva Downs and Geraldine Merrill, both of Trinidad, CO; nieces, Lenora Butler and Jacque Baughman of Colorado Springs, CO and Marilyn Davenport of Belen, NM; nephews, Dr. H. Willard Downs of Columbia, MO, Larry and Bernard Parsons and Janice Haught of Weston, CO; and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date in Colorado. Cremation arrangements by Direct Services, 4501 4th St. NW, 343-8008.
