Ipiotis -- Ted Ipiotis, age 74, of Santa Fe, died on Friday, October 9, 1998, in Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by parents, James and Anastasia Ipiotis. Mr. Ipiotis was born in Albuquerque on October 25, 1923. He married his wife, Josephine, in Kansas in 1952. He attended the Citadel and served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He then moved to Santa Fe where he owned and operated the Plaza Lounge until 1968. He was also employed by the State of New Mexico for 10 years. He was a hard worker and a good businessman. A compassionate man, he was always there for others in times of trouble. He had a great love of adventure which included traveling, taking his children and grandchildren to Greece. Mr. Ipiotis was very proud of his heritage and instilled this pride in his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine; his beloved children, Gary Ipiotis, Sophie Ipiotis, Marcie Abeyta and husband, Joseph, Chris Ipiotis and wife, Molly, Jackie Morales and husband, Santiago, Joanna Ipiotis, James Ipiotis, Dianna Jones and husband, Del; sister, Mary Daltroff and husband, Shields, of Pagosa Springs, CO; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and cousins, John and Paul Piotis of South Africa, Tony Collyvas of Plomari, Greece, Stratoula Mihaleli, Plomari, Greece. Visitation will be conducted on Monday, October 12, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 13, at 10:00 a.m. at Berardinelli Family Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Berardinelli Family Funeral Services, 1399 Luisa, Santa Fe, 984-8600.
