Lucero -- Betty Jane Lucero passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 1998, after a long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fernandez and Ricardita Gonzales. She is survived by her husband, Tony Lucero and five loving children; son, Arnold Romero and wife, Janice; son, Vincent Romero and wife, Lisa; daughter, Eileen Snyder and husband, Randy; daughter, Cynthia Lovato and husband, Robert; and daughter Amanda Gurule and husband, Manuel. Her tgrandchildren are Sarah and Jacqueline Romero, Jessica Kruichak and Krystle and Kathelen Snyder. Other survivors include her brothers, Benny Gonzales and wife, Frances; Manuel Gonzales and wife, Terry, and many other friends and relatives. She was a very devoted, beautiful, loving and kind wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Throughout her battle with cancer she was able to maintain a positive outlook through some very difficult times. She managed to touch the lives of those around her in such a way that made everyone love and cherish her. We loved her dearly and she will be missed. Funeral services for Mrs. Lucero will be held on Tuesday at the St. Jude Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd, NW, where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Jude Church. Arrangements by the Salazar and Sons Mortuary, 400-3rd St SW.
