Black -- Lorin Avery Black, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, died Saturday, September 5, 1998. He is survived by his son, Lorin Avery Black Jr., and wife, Rosie of Albuquerque, NM; daughter Judy G. Jackson of Redondo Beach, CA; grandsons, Christopher Alan Black of Houston, TX, Stephen Paul Black of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Shawna L. Jackson-Oakley and husband, Evan of Ft. Collins, CO and Jody L. Jackson of Redondo Beach, CA; great-granddaughter, Haleigh Noel Oakley; sisters, Hortence Dalby and husband, John and Nellie Crater, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Phillip Black and wife, Hilga of Arcata, CA and Bill L. Black and wife, Daisy of Amarillo, TX. Mr. Black was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Dorothy R. Black; and his grandson, Bradley W. Jackson. Mr. Black was a World War II veteran and served with the US Army Air Corp. He worked 17 years with Standard Oil, 6 years with Galles Motors and 13 years with Don's Auto Parts and Equipment. He was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church and St. Stephen's United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
