Faculjak -- John Steven Faculjak Sr., 80, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 28 years, went home to his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, September 2, 1998. John was born December 28, 1917, the son of Frank and Agnes Bakic Faculjak in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a youth, John worked as a cowboy on a ranch in Colorado. There he learned to make saddles and other leather goods which he shared with many people throughout his lifetime. He fought in the South Pacific during WWII with the 32nd Calvary Division of the US Army. John's life was characterized by an enduring passion to overcome adversity and his upbeat cheerfulness. John was preceded in death by his son, John Jr. in 1985; and his wife, Jackie in 1996. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Mary Keane and husband, Tim and their children, Megan, Michael and Molly of Brookfield, WI, Joan Bustos and husband, Phillip and their children, Matthew, Aimee and Lisa of Albuquerque; his son, Paul and wife, Debbie and their son, Eloy of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Zia and Zane Faculjak of Albuquerque, in addition, John is survived by a sister and brother in Wisconsin and many other family and friends. We thank God your suffering had ended, Dad, and by God's grace you are at home with Him. (Ephesians 2:8, 9) A visitation will be held Friday, September 4, 1998, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., in the chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd., at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The family will be present to receive family and friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, September 5, 1998, 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW, Albuquerque. There will be a gathering for family and friends at the home of Paul and Deborah Faculjak following the Mass. Interment will be on Tuesday, September 8, 1998 at 10:30 a.m. in the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. In lieu of flowers, John would have wanted any gifts to be given to Boy Scout Troop #280, for their Camp Scholarship Fund, c/o Ted Gatsch, 6801 Harper Dr. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
