Thompson -- Gordon James Thompson, age 77, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 14, 1998 at his home after a courageous battle with heart disease. He served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps from 1941 to 1945. After his discharge he lived in Southern California before moving to Albuquerque in 1962 to form Push Button Container Corporation, which he ran as President until he sold the business and retired in 1982. He became a member of Four Hills Country Club in 1962 and enjoyed many years on the golf course. He loved to travel and he visited many countries. Some of his happiness times were spent with his family. He loved his family very much. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy; his daughter, Dianne Hall and husband, Melvin of Aztec, NM; two grandsons, Garrett Hall of Aztec, NM and Wesley Hall and wife, Katherine of Las Cruces, NM; and great-granddaughter, Aspen Hall. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Hilda and John Bird of Great Britain. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service was held Saturday, December 19, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fern Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, in charge of arrangements.
