Ferguson -- Columbus Ferguson, 80, of Taos passed away September 19, 1998, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Ferguson was a WWII Veteran and recipient of a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars at the Battle of the Bulge. He was Taos County Sheriff in the late 40's and a New Mexico State Corporation Commissioner between 1963-1981. He was very active in Democratic Party politics and was inducted into the NM Democratic Party Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife, Molly Ferguson; children, Robert Ferguson (Mercy) of La Junta, CO, Bonavita Flores (Erlinda) of Albuquerque, Patty Gonzales of Florida, Dennis Quintana and Adam Ferguson, both of Taos. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m., Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Taos. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Arrangements by Rivera-Hanlon Funeral Home, Taos 758-3841
