Heckman -- Helen C. Heckman, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, died Monday, March 30, 1998. She is survived by her husband, Floyd Heckman of Albuquerque; daughters, Joan Gentry of Torrance, CA, Nancy Heckman and husband, Raymond of San Jose, CA, Joyce Cooper and husband, Don of El Cajon, CA, and Judy Tye and husband, John of Albuquerque; step-son, Ed Heckman and wife, Lynda of Littleton, CO; grandchildren, Vicky Pohland, Lisa Pearson, Dee Heckman, Eric Heckman, Brian Cooper, and Greg Cooper; great-grandson, Chad Pohland; and brothers, Charles Carlson of Vicksburg, MS and Bill Carlson of Cincinnati, OH. Mrs. Heckman had been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 1966. She was a gifted artist who loved to share her oil paintings with family and friends, and was also a talented seamstress and tailor. Prior to retiring in 1966, Mrs. Heckman worked as a secretary for several food brokers in Albuquerque. Services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Randy Walquist officiating. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The family requests memorial contributions be made to a favorite charity of your choice.
