Sanchez -- Alfonso Henry Sanchez, age 91, late husband of the late Henrietta Heller Sanchez, died in Fairfax, VA, February 19, 1999. He is survived by daughters, Patricia S. Smysley, Evelyn S. Gilliam, Lorette S. Jonkers, and Carol S. Nottingham, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday, February 26, 1999, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. A Rosary will be recited Friday, February 26, 1999 at 7:00 p.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Saturday, February 27, 1999, at 10:30 a.m. with Father Richard McGowan SJ, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd. SE. The family requests that no memorial contributions be made in Mr. Sanchez's memory. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, in charge of arrangements.
