Smith -- Doris Ann Smith, 67, passed away on Monday, August 19, 1999 in Albuquerque. She was born in Billings, Missouri on September 29, 1931. In 1960, she married K. Reed Smith of Springfield, Missouri, who served in the Navy during the Korean War and worked for the National Weather Service in the late 1950s and early 1960s. They moved to Pueblo, Colorado in 1961 and returned the next year to Springfield. Mrs. Smith owned and managed real estate in Springfield, Missouri for the next 15 years. In 1978, she opened her own homemade candy store business in Springfield, which she operated until 1983. The Smiths moved to Oklahoma City in 1983, where Mr. Smith worked for the US District Court for Western Oklahoma until he passed on in 1988. Mrs. Smith relocated to Rio Rancho in 1991, where she operated Legacy, a rare and used book mail order business until 1998. She is survived by her three daughters, Tami Smith, 38, Jill J. Smith, Esq., 36, and Amy Smith, 31, all of Albuquerque; five nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and nephews; her brothers, Terry W. Chapman and his wife, Vicky of Kansas City, MO and Gene Chapman and his wife, Helen of Portland, OR; and her sister, Mary Lou Sutton of St. Louis, MO. Private cremation has taken place.
