Candelaria -- Luz Amalia Candelaria, 87, a lifetime resident of Manzano, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, August 21, 1999 in Manzano, NM. She was born March 8, 1912, to Juan Jose and Juanita (Lopez) Turrietta in Manzano, NM. She married Jose T. Candelaria, January 24, 1938 in Manzano, NM; he preceded her in death, August 3, 1995. Mrs. Candelaria was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Manzano, NM. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Alberto and Carmelita Candelaria of Mountainair, NM, Alfredo and Oralia Candelaria of Albuquerque, Guillermo and Juanita Candelaria of Albuquerque, and Mario and Frances Candelaria of Albuquerque; one daughter, Magdalena Lajeunesse of Manzano, NM; two brothers and sister-in-law, Canuto and Teresita Turrietta of Manzano, NM and Manuel Turrietta of Roswell, NM; one sister, Celedonia Garcia of Albuquerque; 21 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Teodoro; and daughter, Rosarito. The Rosaries will be recited Sunday and Monday, August 22, 23, 1999, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Manzano, NM. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 24, 1999, 10:00 a.m., also at the church. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Ruben Lajeunesse, Steven Candelaria, Anthony Candelaria, Moises Candelaria, Lawrence Candelaria and David Candelaria. Honorary pallbearers will be all the other grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Mountainair, NM.

Dart -- Le Rae Dart, 76, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died Friday, August 20, 1999. Mrs. Dart is survived by her husband of 55 years, David Dart of the family home; daughter, Sylvia Allen and husband, Eugene of Yuma, AZ; sons, Don Dart and wife, Junie of Albuquerque and Allen Dart and wife, Janet Chumbley of Tucson, AZ; granddaughter, Raeline Latimore and husband, Brian of Albuquerque; grandson, Ryan Dart and wife, Jatonne of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Lejuna Allen of Yuma, AZ; grandson, Aaron Allen of Yuma, AZ; grandson, Calvin Dart of Tucson, AZ; granddaughter, Flora Dart of Tucson, AZ; great-granddaughter, Bailey Latimore of Albuquerque; and sister, Evelyn Kilpatrick and husband, Cecil of Albuquerque. Mrs. Dart was born in Tuscola, TX, July 6, 1923. When she was three years of age her family moved to Petersburg, TX, where she lived until her marriage on February 5, 1944. She was a member of Heights Church of Christ. She met her husband, David, at a worship service in Abilene, TX, where both were attending college. Mrs. Dart was a school teacher for over 21 years with Albuquerque Public Schools and in Texas prior to that. Services will be held Monday, 10:30 a.m., at the French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Mr. Dee Lancaster officiating. Cremation will take place after services. Gonzales -- Demesia Gonzales, 87, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, was called home to be with the Lord, while surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, August 21, 1999. Mrs. Gonzales was born in Magdalena, NM and was a resident of Albuquerque; she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Josefita Vigil; her husband, Leandro Gonzales in 1995. She is survived by five sons, John L. Vigil and wife, Della of Golden, NM, Vito Gonzales and wife, Gertrude, Eddie Gonzales, Tony Vigil and wife, Gloria, Jose"Herman" Gonzales and wife, Cathy, all of Albuquerque; two daughters, Dora Lopez and husband, Emilio of Albuquerque, Manuelita Maestas and husband, Arthur of Cedar Crest, NM; 37 grandchildren; 92 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Rose Herrera of Bell Gardens, CA, Lita Herrera of Las Cruces, NM, Lorraine Churchman and husband, Ray of Pensacola, FL; special niece, Lizzie Chavez; a special nephew, Joe F. Martinez; and numerous relatives. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. Visitations will be today, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the chapel of Garcia Mortuary, on the corner of 8th and Iron, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Fr. Montano -- Ernest Martinez Montano, a child and inheritor of our Savior, Jesus Christ, son of Jose and Anita Montano, husband of Mela, Daddy to Gloria Ann Clute, Isidro (Sid) Ernest Montano, Esther Mary Vera, Angeline (Angie) Nerline Carbajal, Marilyn Pauline Jaramillo, Daniel (Danny) Lawrence Montano, and Cassandra (Sandy) Nadine Montano, left earth and arrived in Heaven on August 22, 1999--he was 72. Ernie was born and raised in Magdalena, NM. He was a self-taught man of many talents; to mention a few, he was a former police officer, mechanic, builder, roofer, plumber, and a maker of cabinets and furniture. He had a soft walk, a gentle demeanor, and a kind and compassionate spirit. Ernest whom adored his 12 grandchildren, Michael, Tiffanie, Kelly and Matthew Clute, Alissa, Cynthia and Jennifer Lynn Montano, John and Shannon Barba, J.Lea R. Vera, Brian Carbajal and Taylar Jaramillo, prayed that they would always seek and walk with the Lord--and his eight great-grandchildren, Justin, Dylan, Trenton, Jonathan, Nichole, Natasha, Danielle, and a yet to be known grandson, he stood before them as a giant of the man he was. Ernest also leaves behind two sisters, Anita Carrillo of Norwalk, CA, Frances Sanchez of Los Lunas; and a brother, Lino Montano of Albuquerque; his daughter-in-law, Evelyn Montano; his two sons-in-law, Dan Clute and Delbert Jaramillo; four sisters-in-law, Betty Montano, Onice Montano, Clorinda Montano, and Rita Montoya; three brothers-in-law, Santiago Carrillo, Eloy Sanchez and Fidencio Montoya. His legacy also lives on through his nieces and nephews to whom he was a surrogate father to many. Willie Chavez, Michael Clute, Matthew Clute, Brian Carbajal, John Barba and Dick Carbajal were honored to act as pallbearers. As we stood looking out at the horizon and shouted--"There he goes"--on the other side stood Jesus and His mighty Angels exclaiming--"Here he comes." There will be a visitation on Monday, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main, Belen.

Nutting -- Donald"Don" F. Nutting, 51, a resident of Albuquerque for 12 years, died peacefully Saturday, August 21, 1999 surrounded by his family members. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Nutting; son, Donald W. Nutting; daughter, Erica Encinias and husband, Joe; grandchildren, Trevor and Tiemey; and his mother, Winifred Nutting, all of Albuquerque. Don moved to Albuquerque in 1987 to manage KKJY Radio Station. In 1991, along with two partners, he started"Prime Time" newspaper. In 1997, he and his partner, Sid Fendley, opened Mountain Road Recording Studio. Don was known locally and nationally for commercial and radio voice over work, as well as being the announcer for Channel 13 and RECA Better Homes & Gardens Home Show. Don was the youngest person to interview The Beatles on his radio talk show in New Jersey. Don also began the first charitable campaign for Joy Junction. He helped begin the 24 hour prayer line at Hoffmantown Church and also assisted in opening the Bernalillo Soccer Complex and many other functions involving children. His hobbies were photography, traveling, music, woodworking and soccer. he belonged to the International Brotherhood of Magic. Don enjoyed making people laugh and he was a"living angel." Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming NE, Tuesday, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Services will be Wednesday, 11:00 a.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain NE, with Pastor Bruce Wilder officiating. Sauceda -- Santiago G. Sauceda, 25, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 21, 1999. Santiago is survived by his parents, Ernest and Esperanza Sauceda; one daughter, Dezideria Sauceda; his son, Santiago Ernest Sauceda; mother of his children, Kristine; two brothers, Michael Sauceda and wife, Mari, and Lorenzo Sauceda; grandparents, Irineo Villegas, and Anita and Amilia Sauceda; nieces, Bianca and Marina; several uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Santiago was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Monday evening, 7:00 p.m., at the Ascension Catholic Church, 2150 Raymac SW, with visitation at the church after 6:30 p.m. Anna Villegas and the Legion of Mary reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning, 10:00 a.m., at the Ascension Church, with visitation at the church after 9:30 a.m. Father Ed Savilla, Celebrant. Smith -- Doris Ann Smith, 67, passed away on Monday, August 19, 1999 in Albuquerque. She was born in Billings, Missouri on September 29, 1931. In 1960, she married K. Reed Smith of Springfield, Missouri, who served in the Navy during the Korean War and worked for the National Weather Service in the late 1950s and early 1960s. They moved to Pueblo, Colorado in 1961 and returned the next year to Springfield. Mrs. Smith owned and managed real estate in Springfield, Missouri for the next 15 years. In 1978, she opened her own homemade candy store business in Springfield, which she operated until 1983. The Smiths moved to Oklahoma City in 1983, where Mr. Smith worked for the US District Court for Western Oklahoma until he passed on in 1988. Mrs. Smith relocated to Rio Rancho in 1991, where she operated Legacy, a rare and used book mail order business until 1998. She is survived by her three daughters, Tami Smith, 38, Jill J. Smith, Esq., 36, and Amy Smith, 31, all of Albuquerque; five nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and nephews; her brothers, Terry W. Chapman and his wife, Vicky of Kansas City, MO and Gene Chapman and his wife, Helen of Portland, OR; and her sister, Mary Lou Sutton of St. Louis, MO. Private cremation has taken place. Stern -- Dorothy Anne (Trapp) Stern, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1986, died Wednesday, August 18, 1999. Mrs. Stern is survived by her husband, Robert A. Sweeting -- Annie Louise Sweeting, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since June 1993, passed away August 19, 1999 at 2:40 a.m. Annie was born June 16, 1916 to William and Annie Saunders, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are her three brothers, Roy, Raymond and Henry; a sister, Mary (Mamie) Van Dyke and her husband, Roosevelt Sweeting. Annie leaves behind to miss and mourn her passing, two daughters, Jean Rakestraw and husband, John of Albuquerque, and Oreather Sweeting and companion, Charles Sawyer of Mount Vernon, NY; two grandsons, Ryan Higgins of San Diego, CA and Kurt Woods of New York City, NY; five great-grandchildren; one niece, Valderline Hearn of Miami, FL; one adopted daughter, Helen Sturkey of San Diego, CA and a host of other relatives and friends. Youngblood -- Margaret May (Tatum), 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1972, passed away on August 14, 1999. Margie was born October 7, 1912, in Alamogordo, New Mexico, to James and Della Tatum, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her brother, Kenneth Tatum; and her sister, Dorothy Garretson. She is survived by her children, Dorothy Y. Cisneros of San Antonio, TX, Sandra Rice Youngblood of Phoenix, AZ, Nat H. Youngblood of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Martha Youngblood; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a degree in Art. She was a member of the Albuquerque Garden Club, the American Association of University Women, and Sombra del Monte Christian Church. Margie was a kind and caring spirit who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 28 at Sombra del Monte Church, 2528 Utah Street NE. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
