Lange -- Paul Lange, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died at home Monday after a long battle with heart disease. Paul was born in Frankfurt, Germany on July 26, 1911, the son of Amelia and Dr. Hans Lange. He immigrated to the US in 1929 at the age of 18, lived on Long Island, New York and worked for ten years in the foreign department of Chase National Bank, where he met his wife of 60 years, Jeanette. After marrying and having two children, he moved his family to Santa Fe in 1945, after visiting his father, who spent the summers in Santa Fe while serving as conductor of the Chicago symphony, later the Santa Fe Symphonietta and Albuquerque Civic Symphony. Paul was hired by Ned Wood at Santa Fe Motor Company where he worked as business manager and secretary-treasurer for 37 years. Gardening, music and travel were his passions. Paul is survived by his loving and ever faithful wife, Jeanette; his daughter, Barbara (Bunnie) Rotto and husband ,Dick of Houston and Santa Fe; son, Paul Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Albuquerque; and sister, Annemarie of Macon, Georgia; five grandchildren, Michelle Rotto Bulla, Sue Rotto Ilg, Richard Kyle Rotto, Donald Paul Rotto and Ron Marcinelli; and five great-grandchildren, Dallas and Garrett Bulla, Cody and Tanner Ilg, Morgan Rotto; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at the chapel of the First Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Sangre de Cristo Hospice, 2500 Camino Entrada, Suite A, Santa Fe, 87505.
