Carrillo -- Mr. Federico Martinez Carrillo, Ph.D., born in Valencia, NM on January 7, 1937, beloved only son of Amada Martinez Carrillo and Paulino Ballejos Carrillo, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 1999 at the age of 62. Dr. Carrillo will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 39 years, Ida Sanchez Carrillo. He will be mourned greatly by his two daughters, Paula Carrillo Gonzales and Ana Carrillo Seligman and their husband, Frank P. Gonzales and James A. Seligman. Dr. Carrillo leaves behind eight grandchildren who love him deeply, Mariana Gonzales, Louisa Gonzales, Francisco Gonzales, Angelina Gonzales, Theresa Seligman, Joseph Seligman, Lucas Seligman, and Daniel Seligman. Dr. Carrillo was so very proud of his eight grandchildren. He loved them very much. Dr. Carrillo is also survived by numerous family members and friends, many of whom he considered his brothers and sisters. Dr. Carrillo was preceded in death by his father, Paulino and mother, Amada; various uncles, aunts and other relatives, and most recently his father-in-law, Antonio Sanchez; and brother-in-law, Robert Shadoan. Dr. Carrillo had recently retired from a fulfilling and enriching career as a professor at the University of New Mexico. He had been with the College of Education for many years and had touched many people throughout his lifetime. He was an inspiration to so many. Dr. Carrillo enjoyed life, his family and friends. He was involved in many extracurricular activities such as volleyball and softball. Dr. Carrillo was a member of Queen of Heaven Parish for over 30 years where he was also an active member having loved the Virgen de Guadalupe so dearly. A Rosary will be held Thursday, 7:00 p.m., at Queen of Heaven Parish. Open viewing will be held Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and again on Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., in the mortuary chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven with interment to follow at the Valencia Cemetery, Our Lady of Guadalupe. We will always love you, Dad.
