Buxton -- Margaret L. Buxton, 74, beloved wife of Robert J. Buxton and daughter of Robert and Margaret Hook, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 3, 1999. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert of the family home; their children, Jim Buxton and wife, Debbie of Phoenix, AZ, Larry Buxton and wife, Barbara, and Lucy Daniels and husband, Mike, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Seth and Camron Buxton, Nicholas and Cindy Brown, and Justin Daniels; great-grandchildren, Bailey Buxton, and Curtis, Cody and Madisen Brown; and dear brother-in-law, Charles Buxton of Albuquerque. Mrs. Buxton was born on August 2, 1924 in Cleveland, OH. She moved to New York where she attended Pratt Art Institute. She then attended Ohio Wesleyan University where she was tutored in chemistry by her future husband, Robert. They moved to Albuquerque in April 1959. She pursued painting and writing for much of her life. Margaret worked as a volunteer librarian and genealogist at the LDS Library in Albuquerque where she researched the histories of many families. She was a published author, a poet, a painter and a John Powers model. Margaret was a member of the Sierra Club, and of the Friends Church. She was an honored member of the Hispanic Genealogical Research Center of NM, and the NM Archaeological Association. She has left her distinguished mark on many people in many places. Her accomplished career in genealogy sparked a desire in many of her friends to pursue their own pasts. Her own familial research took her to Ireland, Scotland, and England. She was beloved by her family and friends. A pillar of strength, dignity, and courage. She was a flame of inspiration and quiet passion. She will be forever missed and revered. Services will be held Saturday, February 6, 1999, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, with Pastor Terry Ash officiating. Cremation and private ennichment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Buxton, Larry Buxton, Justin Daniels, Nick Brown, Seth Buxton, Mike Daniels, and Charles Buxton. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Friday, February 5, 1999, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation of NM, 14 Alvarado Dr. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
