Lucero -- Al E. Lucero, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, died Sunday, July 18, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Lilly Lucero; daughter, Roberta Werick, both of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Stephanie Lynn Vickrey and husband, James of Denver, CO and Jennifer Leigh Chavez and husband, Christopher of Albuquerque; brothers, Alex Lucero of California, and Ben Lucero and wife, Eleanor of Albuquerque; sisters, Aurora Pacheco of California and Gabina Roybal and husband, Gilbert of New Mexico; great-grandsons, Ronnie Vickrey and Jeffrey Chavez; and great-granddaughters, Kayla Vickrey and Alyssa Chavez. Mr. Lucero was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ronald L. Werick; and grandson, Jeffrey Louis Werick He was a member of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church. Memorial Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 9:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 5525 Fortuna Road NW. Interment of cremains will take place at 11:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
