Jenkins -- Velma M. Jenkins, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1944, died Saturday, June 12, 1999. She is survived by her sons, Frank Jenkins and wife, Maxine, Cliff Jenkins and wife, Carol, both of Albuquerque, Richard Shanks and wife, Betty of El Paso, TX; daughters, Helen Fabian, Beverly Jean Kausrud, of Highland, IN, Laverne Long of Albuquerque and Phyllis Plant and husband, Bill of Stanley, NM; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; sisters, Leona Treadway of East Alton, IL, Yvonne Wiseman and husband, Bradford of Woodriver, IL, Virginia Layton Dunkin and husband, Doyle of Albuquerque; and brother, Gerald Edelen and wife, Jean of Virginia Beach, VA. She is preceeded in death by her husband, C.Y. Jenkins; daughters, Beverly Fay McComb, Christina Jenkins; and son, Gary Shanks. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd Chapel, 1111 University Blvd, NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Monday from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in Alton, Illinois.
