Nguyen -- Kim Chi Nguyen, 66, born December 16, 1932 in Longan Vietnam. Our beloved mother, sister and friend passed away Wednesday, January 27, 1999 at her home with her family beside her, after a short battle with cancer. She is survived by her three adopted sons, Tuan Nguyen (Michelle) of Biloxi, MS, Khanh Erekson (Natalie) and Khanh Nguyen of Albuquerque; two brothers, Van Nguyen of Tampa, FL and Kha Nguyen of Longan, Vietnam; three sisters, Lyly Dunn of England, Huong Hanley Pankratz of Albuquerque and Ut Thompson of California; and her best friend for 40 years, Marillam Bibi of Grand de Noisy, France; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kim Chi came to the United States in 1975 as a Vietnamese refugee and had lived in Guam, USA, Madison, WI, San Jose, CA, and her final home was here in Albuquerque for 19 years. She was an accomplished seamstress and worked at Pioneer Wear since 1980. She lived to travel and had been all over the United States and Europe and had returned to her homeland Vietnam many times. Kim Chi was a kind, generous and beautiful person. Anyone that knew her loved her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Cremation has already taken place and according to her wishes there will be no memorial services. The cremains will be returned to Longan, Vietnam at a later date to celebrate her new eternal life. We would like to give a special thank you to Pat Conkling, RN, Dana Smith and Juanita from UNM Home Health Care who gave to our dear Kim Chi the loving care that she needed in her final months---We love you always. Cremation was entrusted to Metropolitan Direct Burial and Cremation Center, Inc.
