Elledge -- Bernice (Bernie) Elledge, born May 21, 1929, a long time resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with Our Lord on April 5, 1999, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Hollis P. (Bud) Elledge in 1990. Survivors include her stepfather, Charles L. Young of Clovis, NM; son, David Elledge and wife, Gayle of Edgewood, NM; granddaughters, Heather Zimny and husband, Brian; Alicia Hidalgo and husband, Stuart; and great-grandson, Benjamin Hidalgo, all of Albuquerque. Her close friend, Mike Zownir provided love and support to the end. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A vocalist for many years, Bernie began singing professionally at the age of fourteen. She was a member of the Rio Grande Jazz Society and had a passion for song. The joy that her voice brought to so many will be greatly missed. We are confident that the Angelic Choir of Heaven has a new, clear voice singing praises to God and our Savior, Jesus Christ. Services will be held Thursday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Pastor Lemuel Boyles officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Wednesday, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of NM, 216 Truman NE Albuquerque, NM 87108.
