Darrow -- Mary Jo Darrow, 71, died April 4, 1999 at Newton Medical Center. She was born November 6, 1921, in El Paso, Texas, the daughter of Francis and Velma Rodgers Scott. She graduated from High School in Albuquerque, NM, in 1939 and from the University of New Mexico in 1943 with a degree in elementary education. A Newton resident, she was a homemaker. She belonged to First Presbyterian Church and the PEO, both at newton, Job's daughters, Albuquerque, and Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, where she had been president and served as chapter adviser for 16 years. On May 14, 1943, she married Floyd F. Darrow at Columbus Miss.. He survives. Other survivors include: two sons, Patrick C., Topeka, and Roger B., Newton; and a daughter, Dona Lyn Wilpolt, Santa Fe, NM; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Newton, with the Rev. James W. Anderson presiding. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Memorials may be sent to the Building and Grounds Committee of First Presbyterian Church in Care of Peterson Funeral Home, Newton. Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE, Albuquerque, NM, in charge of burial arrangements.
