Andre -- Maj. Robert J. Andre, US Army (Ret.), 78, died April 5, 1999. He is survived by his son, Michael D. Andre and wife, Barbara of Tijeras, NM; daughters, Leslie D. Spitzer of Las Cruces, and Jacqueline K. Grizzle of Rohnert Park, CA; grandchildren, Nicole D. and Amelia R. Spitzer, and Troy, Tiffany, Todd and Travis Grizzle; brother, J. Richard Andre and wife, Peggy of Naples, FL and Cincinnati, OH; sister ,Jeanne M. Andre of Rancho Mirage, CA; and two nephews and one niece. He served in the US Army during WWII and Korea. In 1945, he was awarded Battlefield Commission to Second Lt. in Germany. He was also awarded the Bronze Star medal for his heroic achievement in the vicinity of Kufstein, Austria. He retired after 20 years as Major. For 22 years, he was a life and health insurance agent for Bankers Life and Casualty. Graveside services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Interment of cremains will follow. French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
