Fellis -- (Delia) Evelyn Hill Fellis, 84, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away on October 19, 2000. She was born on August 18, 1916, in Hondo, NM to the late Roger and Lois (Epperson) Hill. She was a junior accountant for the Yellow Cab Co., in Albuquerque and also worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Evelyn and her husband Pete Fellis owned the Coronado Cafe in Socorro, NM and the Court Cafe in Albuquerque. She was a member of Eastern Star and a charter member of the Beta Sigma Phi chapter in Socorro. She also worked as a volunteer for the Carrie Tingley Foundation. Evelyn was an avid horsewoman, rode a Harley when she was younger, a 4-H sponsor and loved being at the State Fair every year. She and Pete were also foster parents who made a big difference in many childrens' lives by bringing them into their home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter James Fellis; baby daughter, Donna Marie; brothers, Sam, Jake, Alex, Swede; sister, Jane; nephews, Tom Kelly, George Hill, Jay Hill; sister-in-law, Dorothy Hill; and brothers-in-law, George J., Nick and Johnny Fellis. She is survived by daughters, Georgana Day and husband, Thomas, Maryhelen DeMasters and husband, Ronnie; grandchildren, Jennifer, Allen, Peter, Shawna, and Kevin; brothers, Pat, Frank, and Gus; sisters-in-law, Rene, Stella, Mary Ellen, Dorothy, and Lucy; grandnephew, Thomas Bryant Kelly; and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 2, 2000 in Palm Chapel at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Funeral Services will take place on Monday, October 23, 2000, 11:00 a.m., also at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery. There will be a reception at the DeMaster home, 30 Flamingo Lane, in Belen, afterwards. Strong-Thorne Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
