Chavez -- George Benjamin Chavez, 70, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, left this world on Thursday, October 19, 2000 to join our Lord and those who preceded him. He is survived by his wife, Rose; a daughter, Antoinette Marquez and husband, Clarence; two sons, Greg Chavez and wife, Reina and Richard Chavez and wife, Lora; six grandchildren, Gregory Chavez, Raquel Walling, Alex, Montie and Jacquelyne Chavez and Marie Marquez; and a great-grandson, Anthony Walling; two brothers, Ernest Chavez and wife, Diane and Lawrence Chavez and wife, Cippie; four sisters, Helen Milligan and husband, Dan, Jean Alice Totzke, Jessica Rogers and husband, Robert and Viola Gutierrez and husband, Tom. He was a life long member of the Catholic Church. Mr. Chavez was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict with the Medical Company, 8th Calvary Regiment and was award the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze battle Stars, national Defense Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Army of Occupation Medal and United National Service Medal. He was a member of VFW Post 6216. He passed away while serving as an Honor Guard at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. He was a volunteer with the Saint Joseph Heath Care System. Visitation will be held, Monday from 10:30 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 5415 Fortuna NW with Mass following at 11:00 a.m. with Father Gene Gries, O. Praem, Celebrant. Mr. Chavez will be laid to rest at his grandson's side, Albert David Marquez at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Joe Martinez, Dan Milligan, Clarence Marquez, John Milligan, Nestor Milligan and Gregory Chavez. Corbin -- Jeffrey S. Corbin, 43, passed away on October 16, 2000. He was loved very much and will be greatly missed by his survivors, wife, Kristin; mother, Dorothy; sister, Trisha; brothers, Frank, Kim, Dan and Randy; three nieces; one nephew; and his pets, Bubba and Shadow. Jeff owned and operated Corbin Properties, a real estate appraisal company in Albuquerque, for the past nine years. Arrangements are by Direct Services, 343-8008.

Custer -- Marjorie Duff Custer, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, has been reunited with her cherished husband, George Custer. Marjorie was born in Nebraska City, Nebraska, on May 20, 1910 and was the daughter of Edwin and Gertrude Musser Duff of Nebraska City, Nebraska, and Muscatine, Iowa. She attended Brownell-Talbot School in Omaha, Emma Willard School in Troy, NY, and Andrebrook School in Terrytown, NY. During these years, she was an Ak-Sar-Ben Princess and traveled throughout the world. She married George, her husband of 60 years, in Taos, NM, in 1931 and they lived in Las Vegas, NM. In the early 40's, the Custers moved to Albuquerque and became in integral part of the Albuquerque community. Marjorie had a vision of life that had a sense of adventure, discovery, humor, and a love for the beauty of nature. She loved the Jemez Mountains and along with her husband, built a summer home where she and her family spent summers. Marjorie was an avid equestrian, Girl Scout leader, and was an independent woman. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Daughters of the Nile, Eastern Star and various social, garden, golf, and educational groups. Marjorie devoted her life to her family, community, and friends. She gave of herself and contributed to many selflessly without seeking recognition. She influenced our lives with her unconditional love and support and her family and those she touched will miss her greatly. She is survived by her two adoring sons, Robert and Philip, their wives, Mollie and Krys, and three loving grandchildren, Sasha of Prague, Czech Republic, Erin of San Francisco, CA, and Nicole of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her dedicated caregivers, Tsering Lhamo and Norbu Tsering. A private funeral service was held shortly after her death. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given in her name to Save Tibet, 1825 K Street NW, Suite 520, Washington, DC 20006 or a philanthropy of your choice.

Fellis -- (Delia) Evelyn Hill Fellis, 84, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away on October 19, 2000. She was born on August 18, 1916, in Hondo, NM to the late Roger and Lois (Epperson) Hill. She was a junior accountant for the Yellow Cab Co., in Albuquerque and also worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Evelyn and her husband Pete Fellis owned the Coronado Cafe in Socorro, NM and the Court Cafe in Albuquerque. She was a member of Eastern Star and a charter member of the Beta Sigma Phi chapter in Socorro. She also worked as a volunteer for the Carrie Tingley Foundation. Evelyn was an avid horsewoman, rode a Harley when she was younger, a 4-H sponsor and loved being at the State Fair every year. She and Pete were also foster parents who made a big difference in many childrens' lives by bringing them into their home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter James Fellis; baby daughter, Donna Marie; brothers, Sam, Jake, Alex, Swede; sister, Jane; nephews, Tom Kelly, George Hill, Jay Hill; sister-in-law, Dorothy Hill; and brothers-in-law, George J., Nick and Johnny Fellis. She is survived by daughters, Georgana Day and husband, Thomas, Maryhelen DeMasters and husband, Ronnie; grandchildren, Jennifer, Allen, Peter, Shawna, and Kevin; brothers, Pat, Frank, and Gus; sisters-in-law, Rene, Stella, Mary Ellen, Dorothy, and Lucy; grandnephew, Thomas Bryant Kelly; and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 2, 2000 in Palm Chapel at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Funeral Services will take place on Monday, October 23, 2000, 11:00 a.m., also at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery. Fuller -- Maren Jean Fuller, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1983, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2000. Maren was born to Leo and Nina Peterson Tope in Rochester, MI. Maren grew up in Oxford, MI and graduated from Oxford High School. She was a member of the Cosmopolitan Women's Club of Albuquerque. She was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. Maren was preceded in death by her two daughters, Karen Dunn and Diane Kostecki. Maren is survived by her beloved husband, whom she was married to for over 40 years, Richard of Rio Rancho, NM; her daughters, Elizabeth Gould & husband, Kenneth of Oxford, MI, Jillian Maresco & husband, Stephen of Rio Rancho, NM; and sister, Sue Lee & husband, Wallace of Oxford, MI. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2000 at 4:00 p.m. at the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church in Rio Rancho, NM with Pastor Robert Clarey as Officiant. Gonzales -- Anne Dart Gonzales, 75, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2000 after a brief illness. Anne, a native of New York, lived in New Mexico for over 40 years. She retired from the Albuquerque Public Schools ten years ago, after 30 years of service, with most of those years spent teaching at Griegos Elementary School. A proud and active member of the Democratic Party, she also involved herself with the Grey Panthers of Greater Albuquerque, the Albuquerque Public School Retired Teachers Association, and the Old Town Volunteers. Anne is survived by her three sons and their families: Ed, Helga and grandson, Alex Gardipe of Bothell, WA; Wally Gardipe of Dallas, TX; Mark, Mary and granddaughters, Shay Anne and Megan Gonzales of Denver, CO; and her sister, Therese McNeil of Portland, ME. Additionally, Anne is survived by her devoted and loving friends, Carlos and Irene Sanchez of Albuquerque. Hathaway -- Christopher Michael, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, was called home by his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 14, 2000. Chris was born October 28, 1962 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. A resident of New Mexico since 1975, and most recently from Phoenix, AZ, died unexpectedly at his home at the age of 37. He is survived by his beloved mother, Carolyn Mitchell Gallegos and husband, Joseph D. Gallegos from Albuquerque; his father, Donald M. Hathaway and wife, Theresa Martinez-Hathaway from Los Lunas; one sister, Donna Marie Hathaway; one step-brother, Ronald M. Gallegos and wife, Melissa Gallegos from Albuquerque; step-sister, Autumn Pierce from Studio City, CA; half-sister, Shara-Lynn Hathaway from Seattle, WA; nephews, Randall R. Lobato and Aaron M. Gallegos from Albuquerque; grandfather, Merle L. Llorence -- Anthony N. Llorence, 82, beloved brother and uncle was called home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 19, 2000. Mr. Llorence was born in Louisiana; he was a resident of Albuquerque; a parishioner of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church; and a proud veteran of the United States Army, during World War II. Mr. Llorence was preceded in death by his mother Edith Roque; two sisters, Marie Satchez and Terazin Colson; and two brothers Anthony Roque and Manuel Llorence. He is survived by one brother Edgar Roque of Albuquerque; Nieces, Josephine LaCour and Cyntia Claire Sietz and seven more nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Visitations will be Sunday evening from 7:00 till time of rosary , which will be recited at 7:30 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Man -- Martha Lou Man, age 69, died October 19, 2000 after a courageous two year journey surviving ovarian cancer. Born in Wichita Falls, TX, graduated from Southern Methodist University, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma; held position of manager for both the Wichita Falls Civic Play House and then the Abilene Symphony; was Religion Editor of the Dallas Times Herald. Prior to moving to Albuquerque in 1982, was News Director for United Methodist Church's Communication Agency; she took early retirement as Real Estate Editor of the Albuquerque Journal and established her own editing/writing consulting business, MMEnterprises, in which she remained active until two weeks ago. She was active in numerous community agencies concerned with affordable housing. Survivors include her special friend, Barbara Chase; sister, Marilyn Cox and husband, Bud of Ozona, TX; niece, Lynn Cox Evans and husband, Jay of Wichita Falls, TX; nephew, George Cox and wife, Jackie Bob of Del Rio, TX; niece, Lou Cox Chapman and husband, Clay of Ozona, TX; grandnieces, Leesa Marshall, Kelsey Cox and Jamie Evans; grandnephews, Jed Evans and Lynne Haire; and great-grandnieces, Jadi and Juli Marshall; and great-grandnephew, Kristofer Haire. Service of Celebration will be Monday, October 23, 10:00 a.m., at the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church, 1004 24th St., Rio Rancho. Neel -- Myrtle E. Neel, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1941, died Wednesday, October 18, 2000. She is survived by her sons, Weldon F. Neel and wife, Tassie of Arlington, TX, Ralph G. Neel and wife, Sally of Albuquerque; daughter, Doreen S. Parker and husband, Andrew of Belen; and son, Keith D. Neel and wife, Chris of Tijeras; sister, Ivy Mitchell of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren, Sharon Dunkin, Kye Chisman, Aaron Farris, Tanya Lawrence, Leah Jewell, Brian Neel, Julie Wiens and Kenneth H. Bair III; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Neel was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Weldon A. Neel Sr. in 1994; two grandsons, Mark and Karl Neel; and brother, Lawrence Lemmel. She had been a longtime active member of Alameda Bible Church. Rhoads -- Harold C. Rhoads, 68, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother was called home to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 17, 2000. Mr. Rhoads was born in Los Angeles, CA to the late Harold Sr. and Mary Lorene Rhoads; he was a resident of Albuquerque; a proud veteran of the United States Air Force; he loved spending time with this family; and enjoyed collecting model Railroad trains. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Eva Rhoads of the family home; his children, Camilla M. Morton and husband Stephen III, Angela Steele and husband Bradley, Howard Rhoads, Rhonda R. Johnston, Dorothy V. Frazee and husband John; and nine precious grandchildren. Also surviving are two kindly sisters, Marion Bishop of Idaho, Mildred Perry of California; nieces and nephews. White -- Antoinette (Tonie) Marie White, 40, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away into the arms of our Lord Wednesday morning, he had a glorious and better place for her, filled with peace and love. She is survived by her son, Wayne Harrison White; mother, Isabel White; grandmother, Antonia Salazar; seven sisters, Tina Martinez, Patricia Garcia, Janice White, Debbie White-Navarro, Chrissy Duran, Danette White, and Cecilia Vivian; one brother, Patrick M. White Jr.; ten nieces, Leticia, Elisha, Brenda, Cheyenne, Denise, Jasmine, Kylee, Brittney, Isabella, and Rachel; five nephews, Efren, Lorenzo, Diego, Carlos, and Mathew; one great-niece, Danielle; and many friends and relatives. We are all very proud of Tonie's accomplishments, most of all her degree of Social Work and Sociology from NMHU. Tonie was also very active in the community, including Vista, Lulac, Civitan, Hands Extended, Student Senate Treasurer, Special Olympics, Grade School Tudor, and many others. She was surrounded by her family and many friends. A day will not go by that she is not loved and missed.
