Lopez -- The beautiful "Kat'" Kathleen J. Lopez, age 31, of Santa Fe passed away. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Jose E. Lujan; father, Robert E. Lopez; grandmother, Piedad Lopez; and grandfather, Patrick Lopez. Kat had a career in culinary arts and worked in several restaurants in Santa Fe. She also worked as a cashier at Albertsons and the City of Gold Casino. Her"Mommy" was her life and she cared for her with all her heart. Kat was very much loved by her mother, sisters and brothers and always reached out to help them when needed. She was genuinely caring, loving and trusting to all her many friends. She loved spoiling her nieces and nephews with gifts and love. Her beautiful smile brought happiness to those around her and she loved to make everyone laugh with her distinct laughter. She is survived by her mother, Margaret Lopez; sisters, Liz Z. Montoya, Trish Lopez and Roberta Lopez; brothers, Tim J. Lopez and wife, Regina, Joe Lopez and wife, Aurora, James Lopez and wife, Michelle; nieces, Jessica Montoya, Brittany Lopez, Jamie Lopez, Jamila Lopez, Victoria Lopez; nephews, Ruben Montoya, Mannie Montoya, Joshua Montoya, Margarito Lujan; great-aunt, Juanita Gonzales and many other relatives and friends. Kat was a graduate of Santa Fe High School, class of 1987 and attended the Santa Fe Community College. She was ery outgoing and had a great personality and lived each day to the fullest. Kat, we the family pray for your soul and for you to be our guardian angel. You are a part of us and with you; a part of us has died. Our lives will never be the same without you. We gratify the glory that you will be representing God in heaven to watch over us and help us to endure the pain we will suffer from the loss of your presence. We love and miss you dearly. A visitation will take place on Thursday, October 19, 2000 at 5:00 p.m. at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 20, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Cathedral.
